Greensburg American Opera presents two well-loved one-act operas, “The Telephone” and “The Impresario,” at UPG’s Ferguson Theater. “The Telephone” by Menotti tells of a marriage proposal interrupted by phone calls. Ben must find a way to compete with Lucy¹s affection for the telephone in order to express his feelings. In Mozart’s “The Impresario,”a producer is convinced to undertake a new opera and must placate his crafty stage manager, two scheming sopranos, and a self-serving banker.
