Lady Bobcats to host #13 Medaille
Pitt-Greensburg’s women’s basketball team is hoping the number 13 will be unlucky for Medaille College this weekend.
That’s how high the Mavericks have climbed in this week’s NCAA Division III national poll. They travel to Greensburg for an important conference matchup on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Riding an 18-game winning streak, the Mavericks dealt the Bobcats a tough one-point loss, 69-68, on Jan. 12. Medaille is the number one ranked team in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference. The Bobcats are currently tied for third place with the LaRoche Redhawks.
The Bobcats will be without the services of senior Tiffany Menhorn as she continues to rehab a knee injury. They suffered a rare home-court loss to Mt. Aloysius Wednesday, 67-58.
The team is also participating in “Think Pink” on Saturday, a program designed to raise global breast cancer awareness. Admission is free to all fans wearing pink and a $2 donation to the Breast Cancer Fund provides entrance into a drawing for prizes.
