Outta here and into the real world

Dear Kristi,

What advice would you give someone who is graduating and heading out into the "real world?"

-- Outta Here

Dear Outta Here,

I would say it's probably a good idea to have a decent job ready before graduation. Even if it's not your career-you're going to need some cash flow.

Also, just because you're out of college, I don't think worrying a ton about the content on your MySpace and Facebook pages is a pressing need. Obviously, if you have pictures up of you stabbing someone, you might want to take those down. But a nice photo of a beer bong with a friend is a cherished memory.

The most important advice I think a college graduate needs to remember is to stay calm. It won't always be easy, and yeah, you might be paying your loans back until you're 90, but everything works out eventually. Don't get too serious and forget to have fun once in a while. Get your stuff straight, but enjoy it.

Kristi
